Marriage and Couples Counseling
It's never too late to try to reconnect and rebuild the most important relationship in your life.
Sometimes relationships go bad for no apparent reason. What was once a source of joy in our lives has somehow turned into a source of stress, tension, negativity and worse.
Perhaps there are other mental health issues at work, undermining what was once a loving and fulfilling relationship. Or perhaps career issues are taking their toll. Marriages and relationships sour for all sorts of reasons, and it sometimes takes an outside perspective to help pinpoint the causes – and plot a course in a new direction.
Dr. Forrest can help you find your way through a struggling marriage or relationship. She will help you get a better understanding of yourself and develop compassion for yourself, all in the service of changing old habits and debilitating emotional behaviors. She can show you how to actively choose your responses to events and people, and through that, direct your own feelings and actions toward positive change.
Dr. Forrest's entire approach is based on the idea that the problem is separate from the person. You are not defined by the problem. You can overcome it, with the right tools and a little guidance.
Dr. Forrest is a Certified Relationship Specialist (CSR), Certified PTSD Clinician (CPTSDC), a member of the American Psychotherapy Association and a verified therapist on Psychology Today.
